Just upgraded to Diary v3.4.0 on this Moodle site. It includes new word count and character info for each entry. No minimum and maximum checks in this version. Maybe later.
I think I have also manged to fix issue #9 where a student could "un-hide" stuff and make an unauthorized/late entry. That bit of code no longer gets sent to a client computer, so there is nothing to "un-hide" now.
This version also includes a fix where students could directly access the edit.php page via the URL when a Diary activity was closed, and add a late entry. This type of access is now blocked and a log entry is made noting the userid of the person who tried it.
